Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning(BROKE)

Hello everyone, im going to rant a little bit in this post so bare with me.

So basically I am tired of playing games on my PS3 and having them perform like shit.  Two out of three games that I have recently bought have both had problems with performance.  The first would be Skyrim, but everyone already knows all about the issues that plague that game.  The second is a game called Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, this game was fine to begin with but then out of nowhere I start getting all of these damn problems during the game play.  So I decided to look online to try and find if anyone else is having the same problems as me.  I come to find that yes, multiple people are having the same problems, not as many as I would have thought but still some.  The first problem is with the voices not playing while the text is displayed during chat with NPC's, this problem really isn't that big of a problem for me, whatever.  The second is the frame rate issues while fighting multiple mobs of enemies, espeacially when you get groups of over five that all have combat animations that are complex as opposed to just them hitting or something like that.  And now the main problem, the problem that has been pissing me off the most, the problem that has recently made it to where I cant even play this game for more than 5 minutes is that it just freezes after a small amount of play.  Out of the last five times I have tried playing the game it has done this five times, the game is virtually un-playable at this point.  Its a shame.

Possible fixes to this problem have been to delete the 4gb data that downloads onto the PS3 harddrive when you first play the game and then to reinstal it.  Somehow that might fix the problem due to that info being currupt or something like that, there really wasn't a definite answer on the forums to why this would help.  The second thing is to go into the options and turn off the connection to EA's servers while you play the game so that it somehow doesn't effect your gameplay.  While reading the forums I saw that about 50% of people saw that those two options fixed the problem and the other 50% saw that nothing changed at all after trying these "solutions".

So this brings me to my conclussion, my closing thoughts if you will.  Are you ready?  because I know I am...

Stop releasing games that are broken video company's.  All this shit seemed to have started with Skyrim, Bethesda released a game that they new was riddled with bugs, glitches and various other problems but still released it in order to make a profit sooner as opposed to fix the problem and make a profit later than they wanted.  Not to mention their so called "patches" to fix the problem which by the way made the problems happen even more for me.  In fact, I never even noticed said problems for Skyrim until I downloaded the damn patch onto my PS3.  But Im getting off topic.  I just in the long run want to thank 38 Studios for releasing a game that has problems that make it to where I can not play the game at all on my PS3.  I pay $60 for a game that is unplayable and thats bull shit and should never happen.  The other thing that is bullshit is that it only seems to be games for the PS3 that are effected by all of these problems.  There is something wrong with your software or your gaming system in general Sony, fix this shit because at this point Im about ready to throw my PS3 away and upgrade(yes, I said upgrade) to an X-Box 360 because it seems like all of their games run just fine.  Or as a third option, how about video game company's start making games like they used to.  When I owned a PS2 I never once had issues like these, in fact I had no issues at all because all of my games ran perfectly and how they were meant to run.  Fuck, even some of the horrible ports ran better, did anyone play Grandia 2 for PS3, that game was riddled with glitches and asthetic bugs but still ran like a dream when you played it and you know why, because it had a solid base even for a shitty port.  What Im trying to say is, make games better.  Instead of releasing them sooner then you should for profit take that time to make them better and fine tune the fucking game instead of making your fans and customers suffer.

School, Soccer and Gaming Issues

I recently registered for my next set of classes out at Columbia College in Sonora, CA.  This next term should be fun but draining at the same time due to having to work, go to school and dot he whole family thing.  Not to mention that I have like an hour in a half wait between classes that I could be sleeping, poo, but oh well, such is life.  I am enrolled for some math class that I need for my general ed requirement and then a drama class as well to meet the general ed.  I am currently going to school to try and finish up my AS in Business since I finally know what I want to do, not to mention that even just having an AS degree opens up a couple more doors for me business wise and financially.  The only bad part is the lack of classes I can take per term due to my schedule so I wont be done till like early 2013.  But I will get this done, if the world doesn't end any time soon I WILL need this degree in order to achieve the goals that I have set for myself.

Transition!!!!!!!!!!!

We had our in door league tonight and we won, the only downside was I let like five goals go by while I was goalie.  I realize that we won and I should be happy with that but my performance was sub par.  I have always been my worst critic, especially when it comes to sports due to this crazy competitive side that I have.  A lot of times if I don't do well enough to the standards that I have set up in my head then it really doesn't feel like a win at all.  If I have to rely on my teammates to give me goal support so that we can win then I'm not really doing my job as goalie to well.  Right?  Anyways, I really just want to play the team that we played during our first game so that I can redeem myself by not letting them tie it up this time and the game ending in a draw.  That sucked!

And then on to the Gaming side.

Skyrim has been giving me issues as of lately so I checked IGN.com for articles on it and apparently it's not just me getting these issues.  As of recent gamers and other gaming outlets have noticed and logged the game have sever frame rate issues once the file size gets larger and larger.  New games aren't really affected it just seems to be once you pass a certain memory size for your save file.  I know personally I have had slight frame rate issues but the thing that has been bugging me the most is that at times when I exit or enter a house or building the game will freeze on me and I have to reset my PS3.  Now I know that in comparison to real problems like world hunger and other bigger issues this is just a very small if not nothing issue that would only affect a first world country.  But it seems I'm not the only one who this is happening to.  Bethesda(Makers of Skyrim along with Fallout and various other games) has put a patch for the game on the PS3 already but will be issuing even more patches int he weeks and maybe even months to come.  So there is hope that this issue will be fixed, its just waiting for the ISSUE to be fixed that has people perturbed.

The Power is Absent

So the power went out today at around 12pm due to insane amounts of crazy strong wind but I kind of had a feeling that it was going to happen.  I went to Wal-Mart with my son earlier today after the power went out and I expected to see a bunch of fallen tree's ont he way there, instead I only saw one tree which was barley in the road.  It wasn't till I had awoken from my mid day nap that my wife told me that a huge tree had fallen down near the park in the small town that we live in.  So I am assuming that a lot more tree's fell throughout the county as I was somberly sleeping, this is the culprit ont he power being out even as I type this blog.  I chose the logical choice and sent my wife and the kids to my grandmothers in Modesto to stay there untilt he power returns so that they wont freeze in out house, oh and they probably want electricity and running water as well.  So it is just me now in the now power house living the "bachlore"-esk life, for breakfest will be egg's cooked int he middle of a piece of bread(we have propane so I can still use the burners), lunch will be a cup of instant noodles(my favorite) and I will not eat dinner because I will most likely be sleeping at the time.  Perhaps I will go for a run sometime tomorrow as well, Im not sure yet, we will have to see.

So Terraria finally got its 1.1 update and of course the power goes out the very same day which makes it so that I can not enjoy the fruits of those developers labors.  I have literally been waiting like three months for this update to drop and the day it comes out I am robbed of it's enjoyment, WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Oh well, I will just playt he shit out of it when the power returns.  I will be a slave to it's joyus ways, maybe even it's sex slave.  We will have to wait and see.

Oh and one more thing.  I cant figure out how to get the 3D on my T.V. to work with my PS3, it just keeps moving the picture to the right and the T.V. wont let me adjust the screen when it is in 3D mode and guess what else...
Neither will the damn PS3!!!!!!!!!!  If you know anything about this or can give me any suggestions then that would be much appreciated.  Leave those in the comments, I NEED ALL YOUR HELPS!!!!!!!!!!!

DC New 52 and misc.

So DC Comics just released there new issue #1's of a bunch of reboots for all if not most of there main stream characters.  Now I'm not a big DC fan but, OH MY GOD......
They look freaking amazing to say the least, I might start reading them to be honest.

On a different note, I have been playing Mass Effect 2 and I have to say its pretty nifty to be honest, I'm thoroughly enjoying it and all it has to offer.  The only down side is that I don't get to play the first game because I own a PS3.  Why would they not release the original, I will never get to know the joy and anguish that it would have brought me.  The other good thing is this game is basically Dragon Age 2 in space.  Speaking of which, I need to finish that game, I'm about half way thru with it and am severely slacking when it comes to that game.

Another game i have been playing is InFamous 2, I've already beat it and have been playing to get the rest of the trophies, hopefully I will be able to Platinum trophy it, at least that is the plan.  I think I have become a trophy whore because that is all i can seem to think about when I am playing my PS3 games.

Oh yes, they are amazing, the guys vocals make me insane.  Plus the speed at which he screams and growls is pretty impressive.

On to other news.

The band that I am in is playing a show in August and to be honest I am excited to finally get back on stage, hopefully we can get more shows around our age range but for now this will do.  I've been noticing that the style of music that they are playing compared to the stuff we will be writing in the future or have already starting writing is completely different.  I am steadily changing them to fit my voice and my style of music, its not intentional but it is definitely happening.  TAKE OVER!!!!!!!!

So I need a new PS3 controller since I have almost fully destroyed my current controller due to throwing it down in fits of rage directed towards Call of Duty: Black Ops.  That game just brings out the complete worst in me and makes me this angry ball of rage and hate, its pretty crazy.  This is like the second PS3 controller I have gone thru, and if you own a PS3 then you know how expensive those controllers, THEY ARE NOT CHEAP!!!!!  Its gotten to the point that my wife has hid the game from me so that i may not partake in its fun/agony.  I WANT TO PLAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
