Blockbuster Movie Rentals

Hello everyone, how are you this evening.  I'm good, just typing, NOW ON TO THE INFO.

I'm here to talk to you tonight about Blockbuster, yes, the movie rental store and yes, we do have a Blockbuster card.  So, we have the Blockbuster movie pass, basically it is the Blockbuster version of Netflix. To be honest I like the Blockbuster movie pass, it allows us to get a movie by mail and when we are done watching that movie we can take it to a Blockbuster and get a new movie right away for free, after we are done with that movie then we take it back to Blockbuster and we get the next movie on our Que sent to us.  This is what I really like about it, you basically can get two movies right away if you watch them fast enough.  Well, that is what I like about it, but there is really one flaw in their whole movie renting game, and here it is.

OH MY LANTIS!!!!!!!!

So, there it is, you can not do anything but watch the DVD or Blu-Ray that you get.  This pissed me off when I found out about this because I am an avid fan of watching the special features of a movie, sometimes that is one of the main reasons why I even get the movie, especially on Blu-Ray since they seem to come with more special features then a DVD.  So basically when you rent a movie from Blockbuster, this is what you get, just a movie and it bugs me.

Now, I know I may seem retarded for letting this get on my nerves since technically you aren't paying full retail price, you are only paying about maybe 20-25% of what the actual movie is worth if you rent it from the store. So it isn't so far fetched that they would do this.  But come on!  What gets me the most heated is that they are joining forces with these movie company's to make sure that you don't get the full experience and that you have to go out and buy the whole movie to see everything included with the movie.  I don't know about you but I don't really go out and buy a bunch of movies, especially after I have seen them.  The only time I get a movie is when I really really loved it, and even then I feel like I am wasting my money to an extent due to the fact that I can probably just get it off of my Netflix or Blockbuster pass.  I don't know, it just seems like the lengths they are going to to make sure we don't get to see everything is a bit out of hand, almost to the point of seeming like they are taunting me for the fact that I don't have the actual movie in my movie library at home.

What do you think about this?  Am I over reacting or is this something that I should be mad about?

Well, that is all for tonight, I know that the last two blogs have been more of info/ranting, I promise that the next blog I write will be more upbeat and actually happy.

Until next time.
